It is recommanded to sand basecoat with 320 grit count or higher for best adhesion. Grits higher than 1500 may be too fine outside of blending or applying light coat applications. Grits lower than 600 can be dificult to hide scratches in metalic colors
It is recommanded to sand Topcoats with a 1500 or higher grit count for best results. Lower grits like 800 can be used to cut texture, trash and orange-peel faster, but must be followed by finer grits to create a smoother finish. For best results start with a coarse grit(800-1000) and gradually work upwards in small increments(200-500) to a dull semi-gloss (1500-2500) sanded surface. A scratch free mirror-like finish can then be achevied by buffing and polishing
